Medicine Shoppe launches free critical care insurance for Nasik customers
After an encouraging response of critical care insurance (CCI) in Mumbai and Pune, Medicine Shoppe has now introduced this plan in Nasik, which will be applicable to the customers between the age group of 5 and 25 years. The company is offering the plan in association with Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company.
Customers get free critical insurance for their wards against the purchases of medicines, OTC and health related FMCG products from any Medicine Shoppe outlet in India. The customer is given an insurance cover up to Rs. 2 on purchase of a product worth Re. 1.
Under the scheme, the customer has to make a purchase of Rs. 5,000 within a period of six months in order to get coverage of Rs. 10,000 for their beneficiary. Subsequently, for all additional purchases of Rs. 5,000 within six months an additional Rs. 10,000 worth of coverage is offered, subject to a ceiling insurance cover up to Rs. 2,00,000 at any given point of time per beneficiary. The coverage is given for a period of one year from the date of commencement.
The policy is particularly attractive since it covers 10 critical illnesses like cancer, first heart attack, bypass surgery, multiple sclerosis, renal failure, and organ transplant for insured between ages 5 to 25. The benefit will be payable in advance, once the insured files for claim along with the certificate from specialist confirming the illness.
The Medicine Shoppe franchisees have given insurances worth Rs. 4.7 crores free to its customers since the launch of free personal accident and free household fire insurance under family pharmacy launch in May 2002.
In the meanwhile, Medicine Shoppe has tied up with Eyecare Associates, a Mumbai-based association of over 40 eye surgeons to provide quality eye-care to its consumers in Mumbai and Thane by which, customers will enjoy emergency round the clock eye care at their locality at discounted rates.
