Medivo, a provider of virtual healthcare services for individuals and organizations, announced the acquisition of Physicians Wellness Network (PWN) LLC, a leading provider of compliance services for online wellness screening tests. Medivo did not disclose details of the transaction.
The acquisition of PWN and its webLab platform, which has connected major laboratories like Quest Diagnostics and LabCorp of America with patients and physicians since 2001, helps accelerate Medivo's mission to be the leading provider of virtual care services.
"Under Dr Brent Blue's leadership, PWN has established itself as a leading provider of lab-related and physician advisory services which fits well with our broader mission to provide a more comprehensive range of virtual healthcare services," stated Sundeep Bhan, CEO of Medivo.
With a goal of providing virtual healthcare when and where it's needed, Medivo was founded and is lead by Bhan, a healthcare entrepreneur, as well as two physician executives, Destry Sulkes, M.D., and Jason Bhan, M.D. Bhan was formerly the CEO of Medsite, Inc., which was acquired by WebMD in 2006.
"I am gratified to see the vision, management experience and energy that the Medivo team brings to this venture and I am excited to see the service grow and evolve," said Dr Blue, president of PWN.
Founded in early 2010, Medivo provides individuals and organizations access to online healthcare services through its vCare Platform and a national network of credentialed physicians. The network consists of physicians that are licensed to practice medicine and are residing in each of the 50 US states.
