MedPlus partners with Wockhardt Hospitals to provide cardiac care in AP
MedPlus Healthcare Services, India's fastest growing healthcare network, has tied up with Wockhardt Hospitals, to improve access to quality cardiac care services. This initiative is a part of MedPlus' novel healthcare access model that will involve collaborations with various healthcare specialists to provide state-of-the-art medical care services within each neighbourhood. It is a first of its kind initiative in the healthcare industry, bringing two specialist brands together to improve healthcare in the communities on an on-going basis. This service however would initially be available only in Andhra Pradesh.
As a part of the initiative MedPlus is establishing special "Cardiac Zones" across MedPlus Clinics in Andhra Pradesh where cardiac specialists from Wockhardt Hospitals will be stationed to offer consultancy services for early diagnosis as well as for post-operative cardiac care. In addition, MedPlus customers will now be offered special privileges and value added Services at Wockhardt Hospitals and similarly the Wockhardt customers would also be getting special privileges from MedPlus.
At the preventive care level, MedPlus and Wockhardt Hospitals will aggressively reach out to communities across Tier II and Tier III towns through "Mobile Cardiac Care Screening Units". At these units dieticians and cardiac specialists will provide counselling and accurate and timely diagnosis of heart ailments such as coronary artery diseases, valvular heart disease and congenital heart diseases. The Mobile Cardiac Care Screening Units will contain an ECG machine and a 2D ECHO system, enabling the cardiologist to evaluate the risk profiles on a real time basis.

Today, specialized and quality healthcare is either too expensive or simply beyond reach.
