In a press conference held in Chennai, Dr GSK Velu, managing director of the Metropolis Health Services and Murugavel Janaki Raman, CEO of Bharath Matrimony told media that the main motive behind this alliance was to emphasize the need for premarital health check up to promote healthier marriages by reaching out to the people available with the matrimony portal.

With this tie-up, members of Bharath Matrimony.com can avail the pre-marital health check up at special prices and also upload the certificate a part of their profile. Such profiles will be highlighted as 'Health Profiles' on Bharath Matrimony.com. This will help in promoting complete transparency in the process of matchmaking, Janaki Raman said.

Pre-marital health check ups help in preventing untoward instances of contracting infectious or sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), abandonment due to the same, reducing health risk for future progeny, Dr GSK Velu pointed out.
