Millipore Corporation, a multinational bioscience company, and 3M Company, a leading technology innovator in health care markets, have entered into a supply and distribution agreement for 96-well Multi-SPE Extraction Plates.

Under the terms of the agreement, the plates, developed by 3M, will be branded and distributed by Millipore for life science sample preparation applications.
 
Solid Phase Extraction (SPE) is the preferred method for isolating and concentrating low levels of analytes by eliminating substances that contribute to and interfere with mass spectrometry signal detection. The Multi-SPE Extraction Plates feature 3M Empore membranes, which produce clean extracts, extend LC-MS/MS column life and decrease instrument downtime.
 
Jonathan DiVincenzo, vice president, R&D and marketing, Millipore’s Bioscience Division said, “SPE is a popular method for our customers, who need to focus on data quality at low detection limits. The patented plate design coupled with densely packed sorbent provides consistent recoveries across the plate while minimizing solvent use. The product also contains a graded-density polypropylene pre-filter, which is secured above the extraction disk, to maintain fast and reliable sample flow rates when processing biological fluids.

Multi-SPE Extraction Plates are automation compatible with a variety of liquid handling and robotic workstations. Suitable for a variety of applications, the multi-SPE Extraction Plates are available with five solid phase extraction sorbents.
