The Ministry of Science and Technology, through its novel programme, 'Technopreneur Promotion Programme' (TePP) has been extending financial support to individual innovators for converting their innovative ideas into working prototypes/models.

With a view to make TePP more accessible to eligible innovators and to spread the activity across the country, the Ministry of Science and technology has invited proposals from organisations, NGOs, research and development institutions and other related agencies and institutions engaged in the promotion of innovations for setting up TePP Outreach Centres (TUC) in their premises.

The short-listed organisations/agencies would be asked to make presentations before the Screening Committee of TePP.

TePP is jointly operated by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) and Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC) of the Department of Science and Technology (DST). TePP endeavours to tap the vast innovative potential available in the country.

TePP is a mechanism to promote individual innovators to become technology-based entrepreneurs. It was started during August 1998 and has supported about 120 projects till mid November 2005.
