MPI Research announced on June 8, 2009 that in addition to its liaison offices currently established in strategic locations worldwide, it now has an office in India. Until now, the company has served the Indian biopharmaceutical market through its US-based headquarters in Mattawan, Michigan. However, because of the mounting research needs of India's growing biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries, MPI Research is opening an office in Ahmedabad, India.

Bina Ramani, research chemist and longstanding Contract Research Organization (CRO) consultant, will manage the Ahmedabad office which will serve the entire country. With advanced degrees in organic chemistry and biochemistry, Ramani has had substantial experience in multiple aspects of drug development research. "The Indian biopharma market is booming, and having a local presence there will give our Sponsors the support that they need," says MPI Research president and COO, William Harrison. "The knowledge and experience that Bina brings will allow us to work even more closely with our Indian Sponsors in advancing their drug development programmes."

The Indian office fits within the company's strategy to enhance its global footprint. In addition to offices in the UK, France, Australia, Korea, and Japan, MPI Research also has a joint venture in China with Medicilon, Medicilon/MPI Preclinical Research - Shanghai.

MPI Research is committed to partnering with Sponsors to get drugs to the market faster. As a global CRO, the company performs preclinical, early clinical, and select clinical studies for the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, chemical, agricultural, and animal health industries.
