Mudra ties up with DDB Healthcare for pharma brand promotion in India

Pharma Communications Division of Mudra Communications has tied up with an international partner DDB Healthcare to cater to the specialised healthcare and pharmaceutical brand promotion segment in India. The company with the expertise of the overseas partner, has chalked out plans to tap business from the southern healthcare markets by providing communication solutions to promote brands of the pharmaceutical-biotechnology industries, allied sector, health care providers like the hospitals, nursing homes, diagnostics labs and medical retail outlets.

The division's specialty business brand 'Brand Therapist' was launched in Ahmedabad recently. Brand Therapist has already managed to generate earnings to the tune of Rs. 25 lakh from the pharma sector alone and strategies are being worked out to associate itself with the companies in New Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore.

The business target for next year is pegged at Rs. 1 crore where the division is expected to generate earnings from the healthcare sector in the country by offering solutions to build brands. Briefing about the new brand promotion concepts within the Brand Therapist, Alan D' Souza, head, Pharma Communications Division and executive director, Mudra Communications, said that it will add more value to the service of a product manager in a pharma or biotech company and recommend on how to develop an innovative marketing mix to break through the clutter and build a successful brand. At the same time it can never substitute the presence of a product manager, instead provide all support to build a brand, he said.

The objective of the Pharma Communications Division is to create a brand communication and marketing strategy, which is supported by market research, visual aid creation, event management and training programmes. The company has recently conducted a study on doctors and their prescription habits to help companies project their brand better.

The Pharma Communications Division has already been associated with pharma companies like Sun Pharma, Paras Pharmaceuticals, Cadila Healthcare, and Torrent in Ahmedabad, Nestle for baby foods and Dabur for Hajmola and Pudina Hara in New Delhi.
