Multiple Sclerosis Society to organise medical seminar on Jan 12 at Mumbai
The Multiple Sclerosis Society of India (MSSI) is organising a medical seminar on January 12, 2002 at Nehru Centre, Worli between 3pm to 6pm. The seminar will be conducted by eminent neurologist Dr. Noshir H. Wadia. The other panelists include Dr. Bhim S. Singhal, Dr. P. U. Shah, Dr. Satish V. Kandilkar along with doctors from other faculties such as neuro-psychiatry - Dr. Rajesh Parikh, urology - Dr. Bhaktawar K. Dastur and ophthalmology - Dr. Quresh Maskati who will be answering the queries received from multiple sclerosis (MS) patients and their family members from all over India.
The Multiple Sclerosis Society of India, established in 1985, is the only organisation in India working for the persons suffering from multiple sclerosis - a chronic progressive disease of central nervous system in which the simplest everyday tasks can no longer be taken for granted.
MSSI is affiliated to Multiple Sclerosis International Federation (MSIF). Christine Purdy, Chief Executive Officer - MSIF, London is invited to make a presentation on the Sylvia Lawry Center for Global Research on Multiple Sclerosis to Indian neurologists.
MSSI has also invited Dr. Richard Burt an expert on Allogenic transplantation from the Northwestern University Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A. who has graciously accepted the invitation from the Indian MS Society. There will be a lecture on his area of research i.e. "Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation: A New Therapy for Autoimmune Diseases" at the seminar.
