Mylan's generic doxycycline pills approved in US

Mylan Laboratories Inc. announced that Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc. has received final approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) for doxycycline tablets, 50mg, 75mg and 100mg.

Doxycycline tablets are a generic version of Doak Dermatologics' Adoxa tablets (manufactured by Par Pharmaceuticals). Doxycycline tablets had US sales of approximately $56 million for the three strengths approved for the 12-month period ended June 30, 2006, according to IMS Health.

This product will be shipped immediately, a company press release stated..
