Narayana Hrudayalaya director elected as Distinguished Fellow in Society for Vascular Surgery
Narayana Hrudayalaya Institute of Vascular Science director Dr Ramesh Tripathi has been elected to Distinguished Fellow status of the Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS).
He also is a Professor of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at the Institute. His election was based upon his scholarly research activities, innovation, pioneering professional activities, and broadly recognised teaching excellence.
Dr Tripathy completed his MBBS degree from Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Education and Research in Pudicherry. He obtained his FRCS from Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh in UK followed by a FRACS in Vascular Surgery from Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and an Advanced Fellowship in Endovascular Interventions at University of Cologne in Germany.
Currently, he is the programme director of two accredited vascular fellowships from Rajiv Gandhi Health University and the Diplomate of National Board of Examinations. He has trained and mentored vascular fellows since 1998 in India, Australia and New Zealand.
In 2011, Dr Tripathi founded the Narayana Vascular Foundation, which works to educate and care for rural population in India on vascular diseases and their prevention and treatment strategies. He has been a research investigator for 20 different projects.
