New ED molecule from Richie Laboratories

Richie Laboratories Ltd, a Mumbai-based World Health Organisation (WHO) GMP norms certified pharmaceutical company, becomes the second producer of second generation Erectile Dysfunction (ED) product called "Tadarich" (Tadafil, a generic name approved by USFDA).

The company has a capacity of five lakh tablets per day and it is being manufactured from its most modern plant located at Vasai, Thane district. The new version of Sildenafil Citrate for ED is available in two strength of 10mg and 20mg. It comes as light yellow film coated tablets in blister pack at a MRP of Rs.150 for a strip of four pills of 10 mg and Rs.240 for 20 mg.

Tadarich belongs to a group of medicines called Phosphodiesterase type 5 [PDE-5] inhibitors, which has faster onset of action 30 minutes compared to earlier Sildenafil Citrate and longer life thereby remaining active for 36 hours.

The company has been manufacturing both formulation and generic products since the last five decades. Being a major supplier of drugs to most of the health departments of the various state and Union governments, Richie Laboratories has set up the highest standard in quality control. The company's plant is spread across 20,000 sq ft with ultra modern machineries. It produces tablets, capsules, dry syrups and liquids. In fact, Tadalafil has been licensed for usage in condition of Erectile Dysfunction by USFDA and a number of countries in Europe. It is estimated that some degree of ED affects more than one half of all men over the age of 40 and that worldwide an estimated 152 million suffer from ED The number of men with ED is expected to more than double to 322 million by 2025.

Tidalafil offers the highest safety norms and can be taken by hypertensive patients, diabetes patients. The most common drug related adverse events were generally mild to moderate and included headaches, flushing rhinitis. Tadalafil does not interact with food and alcohol, which offers better compliance.
