Nicholas announces 150 % dividend

Nicholas Piramal (NPIL) has declared a dividend of 150 per cent for its shareholders in its annual general meeting (AGM) in Mumbai today. The company recorded a net sales of Rs. 1,269 crore and net profit of Rs. 188 crore for FY 2004 compared to a net sales of Rs. 964 crore and net profit of Rs.118.1 crore for FY 2003.

Currently, the exports of NPIL stand at 8.5 per cent of the company's total income today. It has now framed an aggressive policy called Agya Chakra, which is expected to catapult the company's exports to 50 per cent of the total sales. The company is also aiming for a 20 per cent growth in sales, 20-25 per cent growth in profits and 60 per cent growth in exports in the current financial year.
