The Confederation of Indian Pharmaceutical Industries (CIPI) chairman T Jaishankar has clarified that the Confederation has no plans to withdraw the cases pending in the Madras high court.

"As of now the CIPI has no plans to withdraw the cases. However, if the DCGI calls for negotiation on the FDC issue, we will explain our stand very clear", he said.

The CIPI chairman was on record saying that the CIPI is willing to withdraw the cases if the new DCGI agrees to allow licenses to the 150 FDC drugs which were categorised as 'need further examination'. Clarifying his stand Jaishankar said, "It was written out of context".
