The Madras High Court today adjourned to March 26 the hearing on Novartis case as the Judge hearing the arguments of Novartis and the Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA) Justice Balasubrahmaniam is indisposed. The court will hear the case continuously from March 26.
In the case the Novartis had challenged the orders of the Patent Controller invalidating the patent claim on Novartis' blockbuster anti-cancer drug Glivec (Imatinib Mesvlate).
For the Novartis, noted lawyers Soli Sorabjee and Shanti Bhushan and for CPAA and the generic Indian companies, lawyers Anand Grover, Bharat Raman and Lakshmikumaran will resume their arguments on March 26.
