Novartis India net up by 19% to Rs.38 crore

Novartis India has posted net profit growth of 19 per cent during the first quarter ended June 2011 to Rs.37.57 crore from Rs.31.53 crore in the corresponding period of last year. Its net sales increased by 11.8 per cent to Rs.168.28 crore. The earnings per share worked out to Rs.11.76 as against Rs.9.87 in the last period.


Its pharmaceutical sales registered a growth of 10.1 per cent to Rs.134.54 crore from Rs.122.19 crore and that of generics increased by 15.7 per cent to Rs.12.96 crore from Rs.11.20 crore in the similar period of last year. The OTC product sales increased to Rs.20 91 crore, a growth of 4.9 per cent. The sales of animal health division went up to Rs.19.64 crore from Rs.14.95 crore.
