The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has revised the prices of 69 formulation packs based on 20 bulk drugs on November 8. While few drugs of Eli Lilly, Merck, Shreya and Cachet figured in the non-ceiling and suo-moto pricing, 56 formulations came under ceiling price fixation or revision.

The formulations are based on bulk drugs like vitamin E acetate, prednisolone, cefadroxyl, gentamycin, erythromycin, rifampicin, theophylline, betamethasone, metronidazole,trimethoprim with sulphamethoxazole, pyrimethamine with sulphadoxine, frusemide,dexamethasone, calcium pantothenate, salbutamol, multivitamin with combinations and multivitamin partial modification with factor of Vitamin K.

NPPA had recently fixed the price of bulk drug betamethasone dipropionate at Rs 106 per gm.
