The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) revised the prices of 35 bulk drugs on March 3

The list of bulk drugs and the newly fixed maximum retail prices (in Rs/kg) are Oxytetracycline Hcl (1098), Oxytetracycline Amphoteric (1556), Parachlorometaxylemol (294), Sulphamethoxazole (324), Dextropropoxyphene Hcl (3748), Sulphamoxole (611), Iodochlorohydroxyquinoline (728), Prednisolone (57158), Prednisolone Acetate (34077), Chloroquine Phosphate (729), Pentazocine (34162), Procaine Penicillin G (1368), Benzathine Penicillin G (2500), Pyrantel Pamoate (1370), Metronidazole Benzoate (382), Cefadroxyl Monohydrate (4548), Vitamin C Plain (500), Vitamin C Coated (498), Sodium Ascorbate (547), Cefatoxime Sodium sterile (9033), Erythromycin Estolate Ex-Fermentation (3511), Erythromycin Estolate Ex- TIOC (2329), Erythromycin Base Ex-Fermentation (4814), Erythromycin Base Ex- TIOC (2759), Erythromycin Stearate (1982), Erythromycin Ethyl Succinate (3255), Erythromycin Propionate (3211), Betamethasone Alcohol (Rs 224/Gm), Betamethasone Valerate (Rs 213/Gm), Betamethasone Di Sodium Phosphate (Rs 178/Gm), Ibuprofen (376), Vitamin A Palmitate oily liquid 1.0/1.7 MIU/gm (2436/1000 MIU), Vitamin A Acetate oily liquid 1.0 MIU/gm (2544/1000 MIU) and Vitamin A Acetate Dry Powder 0.5 MIU/gm (3403/1000 MIU).

In a separate order issued on the same day, NPPA also revised the price of Vitamin E Acetate (dl Tocopheryl Acetate) to Rs.942 per kg.

The prices are to come into effect within 15 days of the notification.
