The National Pharmaceuticals Pricing Authority (NPPA) has revised the prices of bulk drugs aspirin and analgin (metamizole).
While the prices of aspirin has been reduced by two rupees per kilogram from Rs.134 per kilogram to Rs.132 per kilogram, the prices of analgin has been increased by one rupee from Rs.458 per kilogram to Rs.459 per kilogram.
The prices of these two drugs were last revised two years ago, as per the notifications 1135(E) dated 15.10.2004 in the case of aspirin and notification 1429(E) dated 30.12.2004 in the case of analgin.
NPPA said in its circular S.O. 1638 (E) dated September 29, 2006, this revised price shall be made effective within 15 days from the date of the order as required under sub paragraph (1) of paragraph 14 of Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 1995.
