Ocimum Biosolutions bags ISO 9001:2000 certificate from Det Norske Veritas

Ocimum Biosolutions (India) Ltd., a life sciences contract R&D organization, has received the ISO 9001:2000 certificate for its Quality Management System from Det Norske Veritas. The company has been certified ISO 9001: 2000 under the RvA accreditation.

The Hyderabad-based Ocimum implemented a quality management system dealt with the analysis, design, coding, testing, installation and after sales support of software related to Laboratory Information Management System and Bio-Informatics. The process approach of the 9001:2000 focuses on business management aspects of an organization while retaining emphasis on traditional software development life-cycle processes, said Anuradha Acharya, CEO, Ocimum Biosolutions.

Since the company's inception in 2001, Ocimum has been providing world class bioinformatics and LIMS software.

Anuradha Acharya, said that "The ISO 9001:2000 certification serves as an impartial and public appraisal of the Ocimum Software procedures and products, and provides us with guidelines to continue producing the highest-quality Bioinformatics and LIMS software".

Det Norske Veritas (DNV) is a Norwegian Foundation and a leading global body for certification of management systems. It is the largest management systems certification body in India.
