The AIOCD Ltd and the AIOCD Pharmasofttech AWACS have launched an online database product for pharma industry 'PharmaTrac' which will be useful for the accurate, speedy and actionable online database of the Indian pharmaceutical market. The product was developed by AIOCD Pharmasoftech AWACS, a joint venture of AIOCD Ltd and Trikal Medi Infotech.

PharmaTrac will provide key insights to pharmaceutical manufacturers that will guide their strategies and actions on new product launches, Therapy Presence, Performance Appraisal, Geographic Focus, Budgeting, Stocking Patterns, Fieldforce deployment as well as tapping newer growth avenues.

PharmaTrac would also be useful to Equity Analysis as it not only gives dealer level sales but also gives their stock levels for the first time in the industry. So for most Pharma companies where P&L is built on Primary sales, analyzing the true sales after eliminating excess stocking at dealers would be an interesting finding. Government and other Health Organizations like WHO would also be a potential user of this data to track elements like Price changes, Disease Patterns, Geographic dispersion of Lifestyle Diseases etc.

The company has worked for close to three years to develop this product starting with Census of 18,000 stockists across the country, panel formation, data processing and statistical projections. The company claims to have an accuracy of 85-90 per cent at the National Level. It would be a monthly report to begin with graduate to a 10 day report in near future.

PharmaTrac analysis would cover the Rank, Size, Share and Growth of Top Pharma Companies, Top Brands, Top Therapy areas and Top Geographies. It would additionally include New Launches in terms of molecules and brands and their performance in the market.
