Opto Circuits' CMD Vinod Ramnani wins Forbes India NextGen Entrepreneur Award

Opto Circuits (India) Ltd, chairman and managing director, Vinod Ramnani was conferred the ‘NextGen Entrepreneur for the Year’ Award for 2012 at the second Forbes India Leadership Awards presentation ceremony.

Ramanani bagged the award for strategically moving up the value chain and transforming the company from an OEM business one that now owned a suite of branded medical equipment and interventional devices.

Gurmeet Singh, CEO, Forbes India and Karl Slym, MD & CEO, Tata Motors presented the trophy to Vinod Ramnani at an event held in Mumbai.

“We have been very fortunate to have multiple opportunities to grow and differentiate our organization while bringing quality and top of the line technology to our users. It is a matter of pride that Forbes has chosen to recognize the company’s dedication and entrepreneurial spirit,” said Ramnani on receiving the award.

The winners were chosen by a high - powered jury headed by KV Kamath - Chairman of Infosys and the non-executive chairman of ICICI bank.

The entrepreneurs nominated for the NextGen Entrepreneur for the Year category, are leaders who have transformed an enterprise through an innovative approach, redefined the rules of business and prepared their companies for a whole new vector of growth.
