Opto Circuits (India) has failed to improve its performance during the quarter ended June 2014 and its net profit declined sharply by 81.7 per cent to Rs.9.39 crore from Rs.51.23 crore in the corresponding period of last year. Its net sales also declined sharply by 22.6 per cent to Rs.313.34 crore from Rs.404.89 crore. With sharp fall in profits, EPS declined to Rs.0.39 from Rs.2.11. Currently, Opto scrip is quoted around Rs.25 on BSE.
The company's interest cost went up 52.4 per cent to Rs.36.02 crore from Rs.23.63 crore in the similar period of last year. Further its other income declined to Rs.3.20 crore from Rs.21.37 crore which impacted its profitability.
The sales from health care division worked out to Rs.316.56 crore, of which its international sales amounted to Rs.312.60 crore and that from domestic market reached at Rs.3.97 crore. Its sales from information technology from domestic market amounted to Rs.1.19 crore.
Its standalone net sales declined sharply to Rs.43.19 crore from Rs.105.47 crore and net profit to Rs.3.62 crore from Rs.22.20 crore.
