Orbit Trade Fairs to organise MEDITEC 2007 at Hyderabad

After the acknowledged success of MEDITEC 2006, which had nearly 110 stalls, Orbit Trade Fairs is planning to hold its second annual trade fair in medical and healthcare technology - MEDITEC 2007 in February 2007 at Hyderabad. MEDITEC, the gateway to medical technology in South Asia, including India will be held for 3 days from 10th Feb to 12th Feb 2007.

Sponsored by Apollo Hospitals and Escorts Heart Institute and Research Centre Limited, MEDITEC 2006 lived up to its promise of offering the best in medical technology under one roof. It showcased products and services by some leading international and national players of the medical trade. According to J.V. Vaidya, director, MEDITEC, "South Asia is the fastest growing market for the medical fraternity. So, MEDITEC was born with the idea of bringing many medical manufacturers and support services under one roof. MEDITEC 2006 was the first annual international medical devices and services trade fair which received a very encouraging response from more than 3000 professional visitors from trade and medical fraternity. With MEDITEC 2007, we aim to offer the right meeting ground for healthcare providers, distributors/manufacturers and all other professionals in the field in South Asia".

MEDITEC 2006 had some of the finest names in the industry exhibiting their competence, such as Philips, DuPont, Confederation of Indian Industries' Medical Equipment Division etc. US, Canada, China, Taiwan also participated through their reputed manufacturers. Jagruti Bhatia, senior consultant, Hosmac India, said: "MEDITEC is the best organised exhibition for a very niche market. It helped us in procuring a lot of national and international business last year, and this year we look forward to better opportunities as the marketing of MEDITEC is the best we have come across. The topics discussed in the seminars and conferences were of great interest and relevance."

The exhibition displayed diagnostic kits and equipment, Therapeutic equipment, health insurance, IT providers for healthcare industry, laboratory apparatus, medical waste management, cosmetic restoration, prosthetics, etc. The exhibition was not only attended by doctors and medical experts but also by medical directors, health ministry officials, biomedical engineers, biotech scientists, pharma, R&D/manufacturing executives, rehabilitation organisations, trade dealers & distributors and many more.

Vaidya further adds, "MEDITEC is the only medical exhibition of Indian origin which had resounding success in its very first year and is poised to become a truly international event, growing in strength from year to year."
