Orchid Chemicals enters into R&D tie-up with Pfizer for new animal health products

Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals has signed a long-term research and development agreement with Pfizer International, LLC. Under this agreement, the Orchid will provide research and development services to Pfizer's animal health business.

According to the company release, the agreement is for a period of seven years and is renewable thereafter. Pfizer and Orchid are currently evaluating products and specific R&D services to be undertaken. The agreement also provides for addition of new products and services from time to time. The services will be provided out of the company's facilities in India.

Orchid considers the tie-up with Pfizer as a significant move in the context of Pfizer's decision to lead the development of new products for its animal health business from India.
