PAM, the engineering wing of Associate Capsule Group (ACG) worldwide, in joint business enterprise with Brimrose Corporation, US, has introduced for the first time in India, the on-line measurement system to cater the need of improved critical quality performance monitoring, ensuring quality product for the pharma industry. Brimrose Corp. has developed AOTF (Acousto Optic Tunable Filters) Near Infra Red (NIR) Spectrometers, for conducting non-destructive and contact/non-contact analytical testing and inspection that extends versatility from the laboratory to the production floor and to the field.
"Brimrose NIRs are robust systems, used for measurement at every step of solid dosage production for quantitative and qualitative analysis. It is solid- state measurement with no mechanical moving parts. Unlike other FT NIR, Brimrose technique is rapid and quick, cost- effective, non time consuming, convenient, non- destructive alternative for routine content uniformity test," said Igor Nazarov, head, Spectrometer Division, Brimrose Corporation, US, on the occasion of launch of the product at SciTech Centre, Mumbai.
AOTF analysers are solid state, fast, and require no sample preparation, have good resolution and excellent wavelength repeatability. It ensures 100% repeatability, consistency and less chances of product failure, he added.
Actual case studies were discussed, to give in-depth knowledge on the process. The other topics discussed included, regulatory perspective and their implication, measurement parameters, first- step guide to PAT implementation etc.
The product would benefit the quality control/quality analysts/regulatory professionals, production and formulation professionals and consultants to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, according to the company sources.
Along with the range of products like Laboratory NIR Analyser, Process NIR Analyser, ThinFilm NIR Analyser, Integrated thin film NIR Analyser, Free Space NIR Analyser, Laboratory free space NIR Analyser, Tablet NIR Analyser etc, three new products were also introduced, namely Miniature Laboratory NIR Analyser, Miniature Process FreeSpace NIR Analyser and Miniature 'Hand-Held' NIR Analyser.
Also, Brimrose presented Unscrambler 9.5, developed for the analytical instruments. Unscrambler offers powerful methods like multivariate curve resolution (MCR), PCA, PLS regression and experimental design for applications in product development, process control, quality control, research and projects involving analysis of small or large amount of data.
