Professor R C Sobti, Vice-Chancellor, Panjab University has recently released the  book , “Mucoadhesive Drug Delivery Systems using Optimized Polymer Blends” authored by Professor Bhupinder Singh Bhoop, University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS), & Dean Alumni Relations of Panjab University.

The 227-page paperback book published by  Lambert Academic Publishing, Germany is also listed on the prestigious e-Book Centre, AMAZON.COM.

Also present on the occasion were, Prof Karan Vasisht, Chairperson (UIPS); Prof O P Katare, Former Chairperson (UIPS); key functionaries of the Panjab University and  the research team members.

Globally acclaimed for his academic prowess and research work in drug delivery and pharmacokinetics, Prof Bhoop has contributed nearly three decades of dedicated service towards pharmaceutical education and research with 111 publications in various reputed peer-reviewed journals and has three  Indian patents to his credit. He is  widely travelled and  has shared his experience  the world over through 107 invited talks and workshops, 17 out of these in abroad, viz. USA, Canada, China, Germany, Hong Kong, Thailand and Kuwait.

He is a member of the editorial board of a dozen prestigious Journals and a member of reviewer’s board of nearly 36 prestigious peer-reviewed journals. He and his team have also presented a total of 142 papers in various conferences/symposia in India and abroad. As many as 16 presentations out of these have been bestowed with “Best Paper Award”, three  in international ones.  ScienceDirect, recently, declared one of his research works, as second amongst the “top 25 hottest articles”.
 
His contributions have fetched him several national and international awards and accolades like “Leading Educators of the World” by Int. Biographical Center (Cambridge, UK) in 2007; “Shiksha Rattan Puruskar” by India Int. Friendship Society (New Delhi) in 2007; “Best Citizens of India Award” by Int. Book Pub. House, (New Delhi) in 2009; and Founder Coordinator for Anveshan: Student Research Convention (North Zone of India) by Association of Indian Universities (AIU, New Delhi) in 2008; “Pharma Buzz Personality of the Year” by IndSwift Comm. Ltd. in 2009; DST-PURSE (Promotion of University Research and Scientific Excellence) Incentive Award, “International Peace Prize” by United Cultural Convention (USA) in 2010; “India Excellence Inscribed Medal” by American Biographical Institute (USA) in 2010.
