The Board of German Remedies Limited has elected Pankaj R. Patel, as the Chairman of the Board following the demise of Ramanbhai B. Patel last month.

The Board also appointed Jayant Chimanlal Jani as the Managing Director of the company. Jani will spearhead a new business plan at German Remedies which seeks to add value to the business by introducing new products and increasing the company's market share.

Zydus Cadila, which acquired German Remedies, is keen on consolidating the inherent strengths of German Remedies and developing it as a profit center.

Prior to this, Jani was the Managing Director of Rhone Poulenc India Ltd., which was recently acquired by Nicholas Piramal Group.

Starting his career with Nicholas in 1972, Jani went on to join Rhone-Poulenc (I) Ltd. formerly known as May& Baker Ltd. In a highly successful career planning over two and half decades, Jani held several important posts including that of Managing Director, Deputy Managing Director and was also appointed as Wholetime Director on the Board of Directors of Rhone Poulenc (I) Ltd.
