The Ahmedabad based B V Patel Pharmaceutical Education and Research Development (PERD) Centre is organizing a five day workshop on "Molecular Biology: A Laboratory Training Course," from July 24-28, 2006.

The workshop will focus on the experimental techniques used in molecular biology research and will have theoretical sessions on basic principles of molecular biology techniques, their application and current development field, supplemented by hands-on training in various molecular biology techniques. The sessions will focus on different topics such as Genomic DNA extraction, Plasmid isolation, restriction digestion, ligation, transformation, DNA simplification by PCR, Protein Gel separation analysis by blotting etc.

Interested professionals should registrar their name before 10th July2006 and registration fees is divided into two categories, for industry at Rs.6000 and for academics at Rs. 4000. The Centre has been conducting seminars and workshops for the last 15 years and by now 80 workshops and six international symposia centre has been organised, informed the organisers.
