Pfizer appoints Sally Susman as Sr V-P, global communications

Pfizer Inc named Sally Susman senior vice president of worldwide communications Erectile Dysfunctionand chief communications officer with overall responsibility for Pfizer's global communications.

Susman, who also joins the executive leadership team, had been senior communications officer at The Estée Lauder Companies Inc since 2000. Ms. Susman was the company's spokeswoman, a member of the Executive Committee and responsible for media relations, employee communications, crisis communications and consumer relations.

"Pfizer is a world-class company and I'm very pleased to join it as Jeff and his leadership team drive wide-ranging changes in all parts of the business," said Susman. "With this leadership and momentum, I believe Pfizer has a bright future and I look forward to working with such an outstanding group of people committed to a healthier world."

Prior to joining Estée Lauder, she held high-level communications and government relations posts at the American Express Company. She directed media relations, internal communications and governmental affairs for all of American Express' international operations from posts in London and New York. Susman also spent eight years in government services as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs in the US Department of Commerce and senior staff roles on the Senate Commerce Committee.

She is a strong addition to our leadership team."

Susman is active in civic and community affairs, including serving as a Commissioner on the New York City Commission of Women's Issues, a position to which she was appointed by Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg. She is a Trustee of Connecticut College and the New School University, and a Board member of the National Partnership for Women and Families.
