Pharmacy Week celebrations of TN to be held in Chennai on Nov 26

The Pharmacy Week Celebrations of Tamil Nadu state will be held at various places in Chennai on November 26.

Indian Pharmaceutical Association, TN Chapter, Indian Pharmacy Graduates Association (IPGA) TN branch and the Pharmacy Department at the Madras Medical College will hold the celebrations separately on the same day.

The IPA TN branch will organise a rally on the Marina Beach Road, from Anna Squire to Light House at 8 in the morning in which pharmacists and industry professionals will participate.

The IPGA’s program which is scheduled at 9.30 am at Hotel Savera will be inaugurated by the Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker D Jayakumar.  B V Remana, minister of environment, government of Tamil Nadu will be the chief guest and Ravi Udayabhaskar, general secretary of AIDCOC, will be the guest of honour.

TN DC director M Selvaraj, M Sulaiman, mananging director of Madras Pharmaceuticals and M Dhilip Kumar, IPGA state secretary will address the audience.

There will be special lectures by Dr C Senthil Kumar, senior patent professional from USA and Dr K Rukmini, director of Centre for Research, Anna university.

In the evening IPA TN chapter will organize the programme at Raja Annamalai Mandram where the governor of Tamil Nadu, Dr K Rosaiah will inaugurate the celebration.

Dr B R Jagashetty, drugs controller of Karnataka will deliver a lecture on the theme “Pharmacist, a healthcare professional”.  M Selvaraj, director of Tamil Nadu drugs control department will be the guest of honour and PBN Prasad, deputy drugs controller of CDSCO will be the chief guest in the function.

R Narayanasamy, J Jayaseelan, MM Yusuf and other office-bearers of IPA-TN will speak on issues in the pharmaceutical industry in the state.

The department of pharmacy at the Madras Medical College will conduct a pharma quiz as part of its celebration at the college in the morning.
