Pharmexcil EGM on March 12 to revise membership fees

An extraordinary general meeting of the Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council (Pharmexcil) will be held in Hyderabad on March 12 to take a final decision on revising the membership fee and entrance fee with effect from April 2007 to meet the growing expenses of the export promotion body.

To make the government body self sufficient in its expenses, the EGM will take the final decision on revising the membership fee and entrance fee. All the members of the premium pharma export council entitled to attend and vote at the meeting is entitled to appoint a proxy to attend and vote instead of himself and the proxy need not be a member.

As per the executive committee recommendation, the Council is to increase the membership for large scale manufacturers from the existing Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000, for small scale manufacturers from Rs 2000 to Rs 3000 and merchant exporters from Rs 3000 to Rs 4,500.

The executive committee has also recommended to increase the entrance fee for large scale manufacturers from the existing Rs 5000 to Rs 7,500, for small scale manufacturers from Rs 1000 to Rs 1500 and for merchant exporters from Rs 1500 to Rs 2250.
