Pharmexcil organises workshop on 'Regulatory Compliances in Japan' in Mumbai
The Pharmaceutical Export Promotion Council of India (Pharmexcil) recently organised a workshop on "Regulatory Compliances in Japan" in Mumbai. Pharmexcil had invited senior officials from Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, Japan at the workshop for better understanding of pharmaceutical business in both the countries.
Dr P V Appaji said that this workshop was the base for India and Japan to come closer. This platform was organised for Indian pharma industry and regulatory authorities of the country to interact with the Japanese officials and understand their system.
Dr Appaji further added that this workshop will help Indian pharma exporters to understand the Japanese pharma market and its regulations. Similarly it will also help the Japanese government to understand in detail about the Indian pharma industry.
The objective of the campaign was to create consciousness about Indian pharma industry as a whole in the minds of overseas buyers and to project India as a $25 billion market by March 2014.
Mahesh Zhagade, commissioner of Maharashtra FDA said, “To understand regulatory compliances in Japan, we need to partner with Japan in pharma sector.” Zhagade further added that India is a country with maximum number of API units and the country is looking forward for investment with Japan in future.
