Portea & American Megatrends ink pact to bring remote health monitoring to homecare patients
Portea Medical of India and American Megatrends Inc., (AMI), a leader in the development of smart diagnostic devices, have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at delivering improved health outcomes for homecare patients.
Under the partnership, Portea’s healthcare workers will use AMI’s B.O.L.T. health monitoring device to collect health data such as non-invasive blood pressure (NIBP), pulse, blood oxygen levels and temperature from their homecare patients on smartphones. The data will then be used to personalize treatment plans and proactively intervene when the conditions of the patients warrant action.
The agreement between Portea Medical and AMI is the first such partnership in the Indian home healthcare market that is valued at between $2B - $4B a year and growing at 20 per cent annually.
“We are positioned at the focal point of key trends that are driving healthcare globally including a move towards continuous monitoring using technology and clinicians to provide more personalized care. We are pleased to enter this partnership with AMI that emphasizes our focus on using the best and most practical solutions to benefit our patients,” said Meena Ganesh, co-founder and chief executive officer, Portea Medical.
“Portea has pioneered and revolutionized the home healthcare scenario in India. AMI B.O.L.T integrated with Portea ecosystem has enabled customers to share their key health parameters with physicians and healthcare workers within the comfort of their homes. We are very happy to be associated with Portea in bringing quality healthcare to homes,” said Sridharan Mani, director and chief executive officer, AMI.
