Prime Therapeutics to provide PBM services to Horizon Healthcare's non-medicare customers
Prime Therapeutics LLC (Prime), a pharmacy benefit management company dedicated to providing innovative, clinically-based, cost-effective pharmacy solutions for clients and members, has been chosen by Horizon Healthcare Services, Inc., New Jersey’s oldest and largest health insurance company serving 3.6 million members, to provide pharmacy benefit management (PBM) services to its non-medicare customers beginning April 1, 2013. CVS Caremark currently provides PBM services for Horizon Healthcare Services, Inc.
Prime Therapeutics, owned by 13 Blue Cross Blue Shield Plans, serves 20 million customers across the US and has a long history of providing a full range of pharmacy benefit management services for its participating plans.
Following an extensive proposal process, Horizon Healthcare Services, Inc. selected Prime due to the company’s superior quality outcomes for patients, flexibility regarding products and services, and the ability to provide the lowest net-cost. Through the proposal process, Prime demonstrated that it shared Horizon’s commitment to providing excellent service to its customers.
