Queen Margaret University College (QMUC), UK, and Omayal Achi College of Nursing (OACN), Chennai, will sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop nurse training and related areas of academic interest.
This new collaboration envisages planning for in-country delivery by OACN of the B Sc post-basic programme in Nursing Studies Award of QMUC, offering an exchange facility for students and faculty members and exploring the potential for developing other mutual beneficial programmes.
The first intake of the nursing studies programme is expected in September this year.
The MoU will be signed by Prof Alan Gilloran, dean of Faculty of Health and Social Sciences, QMUC, and Valli Alagappan, chairperson, OACN governing council, in the presence of Michael Herridge, British Deputy High Commissioner for southern India, and Dr M Anandakrishnan, chairman of the All India Board of Undergraduate Education in Engineering and Technology.
