P.A.C Ramasamy Raja Centenary Trust promoted by Ramco Group, Rajapalayam, has joined hands with Apollo Hospitals Group to establish a 30 bed multi-speciality hospital at Rajapalayam. The said hospital is to be established at a cost of Rs.10 crore, and is to be commissioned in September 2003. The project would be fully funded by the trust and established and managed jointly by the Apollo Hospitals and the Trust.

This is the first corporate project for the Apollo Hospitals group in Tamil Nadu after its decision not to construct hospitals on its own but commission and manage hospitals on behalf of the second party.

The said hospital would be a big boon for the people of Rajapalayam and neighbouring areas who currently visit hospitals in Thanjavur, Madurai and Chennai.

The services offered by the hospital are 24 hour emergency and trauma care , pharmacy and ambulance services, besides medical disciplines like general medicine, general surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, cardiology, neurology, gastroentrology, respiratory medicine, orthopaedics, dentistry, ophthalmology, ENT and dermatology.

The hospital would be equipped with high-end radiology and imaging sciences, lab services, operation theatres, critical care units, renal dialysis unit and physiotherapy.

An unique feature of the hospital would be its telemedicine link to Apollo Hospitals, Madurai thus providing for consultation in super-specialities including oncology, cardiology and cardio-thoracic surgery among others.
