RSMT of Orissa steps into academic license agreement with Helix

The Royal School of Management & Technology (RSMT), an established institute of repute for Bio-Technology, Bio-Informatics & Management education located at Bhubaneswar, has entered into academic license agreement with the Hyderabad-based Helix Genomics. This agreement will enable usage of Biological Operating System (BOS) Version 1. 0 by the students for Training, Research and Bioinformatics Project Works.

Sambit Kumar Patra, director- Academics, RSMT commented that such relationships between the industry and institute would be of mutual benefit. The industry can add value to the academic learning at the institutes and in return benefit from the vast pool of trained manpower and resources available. Currently more than 250 students are pursuing B.Tech & MSc Programme in Bio-Technology & Bio-Informatics at RSMT and the institute is focused towards building a strong industry interface.

Commenting on the license agreement, Mohan RK Nimmagadda, CEO of Helix said, "It will help the Indian Life Science industry to address the growing need of quality training & research services in the Bio-Technology and Bio-Informatics sector. BOS is unique in being the higher-level user friendly Object Oriented Biological Programming Environment."

Helix is Bio-computational research-based company focused on providing services such as biological research and analysis.
