City-based Grant Medical Foundation’s Ruby Hall Clinic plans to tie up with the Poonawalla Group of industries to set up a state of the art cancer centre.
The project, which will cost nearly Rs.40 crore will be completed in one and half years time. Dr Purvez Grant, noted cardiac surgeon and trustee at the clinic said that the hospital had been a pioneer in the treatment of cancer. “Few months back the Poonawalla group assured a substantial grant for the centre, while expertise is already available at the hospital,” Dr Grant said. The work for the centre has already started, he added.
The Poonawalla Cancer Centre will be constructed in the premises of the Ruby Hall Clinic, which will be an eight-storey building and will be sprawled over 60,000 sq.ft. of area. To be equipped with linear accelerators and other modern equipment, the centre will treat all types of malignancies, Grant said.
Another ambitious project has been earmarked whereby Ruby Hall Clinic will manage functioning of private hospitals outside Pune. These include nine new projects at hospitals at Karad, Phaltan, Ambarnath, AmbyValley, Terna and others.
