The 350-bed Sakra World Hospital, a joint venture of the Kirloskar Group, Toyota Tsusho Corporation, and SECOM Hospitals of Japan, will now offer Hysteroscopy to provide relief to scores of women in gynecology disorders.
A dedicated Sakra Hysteroscopy Clinic would be led by Dr. Prabha Ramakrishna, Head Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Sakra World Hospital. It has been set up in collaboration with Prof. Janesh K Gupta, Professor of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Birmingham Women’s Foundation NHS Trust, Birmingham, United Kingdom who is the Chief Investigator for various large controlled trials in the treatment of abnormal uterine bleeding and views that future of ambulatory services would be the development of 'One-stop' 'See & Treat' outpatient local anaesthetic clinics. The concept will help move away from traditional inpatient surgery to the outpatient ambulatory setting.
It will enable women to walk into the clinic and have a diagnostic and minimally invasive procedure in the same sitting for abnormal uterine bleeding, treatment of fibroids, polyps, endometrial ablations and miscarriages. These procedures would be performed with less invasive treatment in an informal setting where the patient will be awake and will be able to talk to the doctor and nurses.
Dr. Prabha Ramakrishna says “In India, one of the most common surgical option suggested for uterine disorder is Hysterectomy. Considering the complications arising from major surgeries, we have tried to offer alternative methods of treatment with less anxiety and quicker recovery to women.”
“We have been at the forefront for advancement to offer the best to the patients,” said Dr. Raajiv Singhal, Group chief executive officer, Sakra World Hospital at the launch of the Hysteroscopy Clinic.
