Seminar on GMP& Standardisation of ISM started in Chennai

A two-day national seminar on standardisation and GMP requirements of Indian System of Medicine (ISM), conducted by the Chennai-based Captain Srinivasa Murti Drug Research Institute of Ayurveda (CSMDRIA), one of the Ayurvedic research centres under Central Council for Research in Ayurveda and Siddha (CCRAS), was started today in Chennai.

The seminar, ‘Modern Vistas in Standardization and GMP’s of ISM Drugs’, is focusing on the problems on standardization of Indian medicines and the GMP required according to the law. Scientific papers will be presented on the standardization process of various drugs and the problems in standardizing the raw materials for drugs in Indian medicines.

Eminent scholars will present scientific papers in the two-day seminar. Officials said the pharmaceutical manufacturers of Indian system of Medicine would be the major beneficiaries of the seminar.
