Shasun Pharmaceuticals net dips by 67% in Q3

Shasun Pharmaceuticals, a Rs.1,000 crore plus Chennai based pharma major, has reported poor performance during the third quarter ended December 2012 and its consolidated net profit declined sharply by 66.6 per cent to Rs.8.21 crore from Rs.24.60 crore in the similar period of last year. Its profit before depreciation, interest and tax also declined by 50.2 per cent to Rs.28.02 crore from Rs.56.24 crore. The company's net sales went down by 13.1 per cent to Rs.257.09 crore from Rs.295.83 crore.

For the nine months period ended December 2012, its net sales increase marginally by 5.4 per cent to Rs.765.45 crore from Rs.726.20 crore. However, its net profit declined 4.4 per cent to Rs.39.78 crore from Rs.41.59 crore. EBDITA worked out to Rs104.43 crore as compared to Rs.98.73 crore in the same period of last year.

Its standalone net sales for the quarter ended December 2012 declined by 7.2 per cent to Rs.184.40 crore from Rs.198.77 crore and its standalone net profit moved down sharply to Rs.2.89 crore from Rs.12.68 crore.
