Pharma Vision is part of the SIES College of Management Studies' annual event Virtualities, an amalgamation of events organised by students across different managerial streams. The theme of this year's Virtualities is 'Recession - A Way Forward'.

"Pharma Vision is the annual event of the pharmaceutical management stream at SIES College of Management studies. It is an entirely student driven event started in 1998. Pharma Vision serves as an interface between the corporate world and budding managers. Since its inception, Pharma Vision has always been graced by eminent personalities from the pharmaceutical industry," said the organisers of the event.

"This year's event comprises a repertoire of modules and topics that are intended to showcase and enlighten students with recent happenings in the pharmaceutical world, straight from the horse's mouth. This platform would also offer students an opportunity to interact with some of the who's who of the industry, who would also clarify the students' doubts," they added.

The event is learnt to explore the effects of recession on the pharmaceutical industry and future prospects of the Indian pharmaceutical industry with respect to opportunities in emerging markets, apart from creating awareness on budding and lucrative medical tourism industry in the country.

The inauguration ceremony of Pharma Vision '09 would be noted for the presence of Mohan Kekatpure, president (Maharashtra), Indian pharmaceutical Association, Prabal Chakraborty, group vice president, J&J Medical India, Saumil Modi, associate director of marketing, Roche Scientific Company India and Dr C B Vig, founder of Dr Vig Medicaments.
