SIES to organise workshop on recent advances in medical, plant, environmental biotechnologies
SIES Indian Institute of Environment Management, Nerul is organising a two-day workshop on 'Recent advances in medical, plant and environmental biotechnologies' on 13th and 14th January, 2006. The workshop is designed with the support of corporate groups and institutions to provide a platform for the dissemination of state-of-the-art knowledge on recent developments and promote an interaction of the academic community and professionals from the industrial organisations.
According to a SIES release, some of the topics to be presented at the workshop are molecular diagnostics, genetic vaccines, molecular characterisation of pathogens, markers for cancer, stem cell research, plant tissue culture, transgenic plants, edible vaccines, recombinant products, nano-biotechnology, petro crops - biodiesel, bioethanol, novel bioreactors, bioprospecting and biotransformations, CDM (Kyoto Protocol) and enzyme applications
The programme is designed for science graduates and post graduates, PhD students, R&D and medical institutions, government organisations, consultancies, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and allied process industries.
