SIPS organises 3-day seminar on applications of statistical designing pharmaceutical experiments in Pune

Sinhgad Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (SIPS) Lonavala, Pune had organized three days national level seminar on applications of statistical designing pharmaceutical experiments recently. The programme was sponsored by University of Pune.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr Subrata Rath, head of Indian Statistical Institute, Pune.

The objective of the programme is to focus on statistical methods which are becoming increasingly important for the pharmaceutical industry. The FDA and other organizations are moving swiftly to establish quality by design (Q B D) guidance relevant to the needs of pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Dr S Rath highlighted the latest development in statistics designing and its importance. Dr S B Bhise, principal of Sinhgad Institute of Pharmaceutical Science Lonavala, stress the need, importance, knowledge, of staff and student with respect to application of statistics in designing. He further said that student with good knowledge; skill of statistics designing can be easily absorbed in pharmaceutical industry.

Eminent scientist and academicians like Dr A P Pawar, vice principal, Poona college of Pharmacy Pune, S P Boldhane, Abbott Health Care Pvt. Ltd, Mumbai, Dr M R Bhalekar, AISSMS college of Pharmacy Pune, Dr Manish Grover, Abbott Health Care Pvt. Ltd, Mumbai, Dr Debjani Paul Piramal LifeSciences Mumbai, Dr Sanjay Kumar, Piramal LifeSciences, Mumbai, Madhav Kulkarni, DOW Chemical International Pvt Ltd, Pune, Preety Gupata from  Dr Reddys Laboratories, Hyderabad made their presence at the 3-day event.

The seminar was attended by more than 200 teachers, industry persons and student of various pharmacy colleges around the nation.

Dr Dias, professor, dept of pharmaceutics proposed the vote of thanks.
