SIS sets up offshore development and quality assurance centre in Hyderabad
The Atlanta-based Surgical Information Systems (SIS), a leader in the development of surgical management information systems targeting operation theatres is planning to set up a new offshore development and quality assurance centre in Hyderabad. SIS India, a wholly owned subsidiary, located in the Vanenberg IT Park near Hitech City would help for the rapid development, research and quality testing of SIS's software products. It would also provide talented, dedicated associates with the technological expertise necessary to rapidly drive product development and launch the project. Having invested about $1 million, SIS-India plans further investment of $1 million. SIS India has already begun operations with about 50 associates and is expected to increase the number to 100 by the year-end and double it by the end of 2002.
The centre is expected to facilitate the company's US-based software engineers to focus on working proactively with its clients to design and prototype new software products and to enhance and continue to improve the quality of the software.
Having invested about $1 million, SIS-India plans an additional investment of $1 million. Following the signing up with North Shore-Long Island Jewish Hospital Systems in New York, SIS will be meeting the hi-tech information management needs of over 100 hospitals in a record time.
