SpectraCell Laboratories has launched a new product line of nutritional tests to complement its full range of nutrient assessments in the field of preventive medicine. The addition of six important new tests provides the most comprehensive nutritional deficiency analysis available, providing powerful and innovative clinical assessment tools for physicians in primary and specialty care. SpectraCell is now offering tests for Vitamin D, Vitamin E, Selenium, Coenzyme-Q10, Lipoic Acid, and Carnitine.

Extensive scientific and clinical studies have repeatedly demonstrated that vitamin, mineral and antioxidant deficiencies can have adverse effects upon health, from acute infections to chronic disease, at all stages of life. These particular nutrients have shown much promise in the prevention and management of important chronic disease conditions such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes.

SpectraCell's FIA tests measure functional levels of a broad range of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants, as well as other essential nutrients. These tests offer a scientific basis for repletion of specific nutrient deficiencies.

Standard serum tests measure only the quantities of vitamins and minerals present in serum, providing limited information on intracellular levels. At SpectraCell, lymphocytes are grown in tissue culture to determine functional intracellular deficiencies that can limit mitogenic responses and cell-mediated functions. This unique methodology takes into account the genetic, metabolic, biochemical and physiological differences in each patient.

Physicians are uniquely qualified to guide the nutritional care of their patients.By using the FIA(TM) tests to identify specific needs, accompanied with SpectraCell's easy to read report, physicians can provide scientifically based therapy that contributes to the comprehensive care provided every day.
