SRV Healthcare launches 75 bed multi-speciality hospital at Goregaon
In order to meet the medical requirements of city’s extended western suburbs, privately held SRV Healthcare recently launched its multispecialty SRV Hospital in Goregaon area of Mumbai. The 75-bed hospital with ultra-modern operation theatres was inaugurated by Shiv Sena leader and minister for industries Subhash Desai.
Estimated to have built at a cost of Rs.38 crore, the hospital offers day-care medical facilities and advanced specialized treatment in areas of gastroenterology, cancer care, cardiology, orthopaedics, neurology, comprehensive kidney care, obstetrics and gynaecology, urology, ophthalmology, endocrinology, respiratory problems and paediatric with focus on neonatal care.
Spread across 25,000 sq feet, the hospital houses 24/7 emergency care services with 16 ICUs and state-of-the-art Cath lab. The hospital is a boon for patients as it would meet the ever increasing demand of modern medicare currently catered by few hospitals in the western suburbs. The hospital will cater to patients residing in the extended suburbs starting from Mira Road up to Virar.
Founder chairman of SRV Multi-Specialty Hospital, Dr. Abhay Vispute, said, “Launch of a multispecialty hospital in Goregaon is an initiative in providing the best healthcare facilities closer to the people residing in western suburbs.”
He added that the role of a mid sized healthcare institution like SRV Hopsital can be gauged by the fact that there is a requirement of more 1500 to 1800 beds in suburbs from Borivali to Goregaon. Further to this, the grim scenario is that in India we have only 2 doctors for a patient population of 15, 000 against the prescribed WHO guideline of one doctor for a population of 1500.
Dr Bijoy Kutty, director, department of cardiac surgery, Platinum Hospitals, Mumbai, said, "The state of the art mid sized tertiary hospital like SRV Hospital has the potential to implement the concept of golden hour for patients suffering from diseases like dengue or even conditions like renal failure, stroke, heart attack and pregnancy."
The hospital is equipped with the most advanced operation theatres, tertiary care ICU’s with full time intensivists, dedicated Cath Lab for interventional procedures, separate OPD consulting rooms, a dedicated wellness lounge and well-equipped pathology and radiology centres.
State industries minister Subhash Desai said, “Medical science has made enormous progress and hospitals like SRV would open the doors of advancements and make quality treatment available to the people residing in western suburbs and other parts of the city as well.”
