Strand Genomics Pvt. Ltd. announced the appointment of Todd Laird as the Senior Vice President of Business Development. Todd will lead Strand's business development efforts and will be based in Strand's US office in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Todd has 20 years of experience in international sales and business development spanning the life science, software, and high-technology manufacturing industries. Most recently Todd was VP of Business Development at GeneticXchange, a provider of data integration middleware for the life sciences, where he was responsible for developing OEM and channel relationships with instrumentation, application software, and system integration partners. Previously, Todd served as VP of Strategic Alliances for pioneering B2B life science marketplace Chemdex (later renamed Ventro), and participated in their successful IPO. In addition, he has held management positions with major life science and healthcare companies including VWR Scientific Products and Baxter International, where he was responsible for successfully building and developing global business relationships with Fortune 100 clients in the life science and semiconductor industries.Earlier in his career, Todd worked as an analytical chemist developing novel methods for testing biological compounds.
