Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company (SPARC), a subsidiary company of
Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd, has posted net profit of Rs. 8.82 crore during the second quarter ended September 2010 as against a net loss of Rs. 7.49 crore in the corresponding period of last year. Its income from operations went up sharply to Rs. 25.97 crore from Rs. 6.07 crore. With profits, its earnings per share for the face value of Rs. 1 per share, worked out to Rs. 0.43 as compared to negative Rs. 0.36.

For the first half ended September 2010, SPARC achieved net profit of Rs. 9.30 crore as compared to a net loss of Rs. 19.16 crore. Its net sales reached at Rs. 41.07 crore from Rs. 8.84 crore.

For the year ended March 2010, the company's net sales amounted to Rs. 34.41 core and it incurred a net loss of Rs. 21.55 crore.
